We have experience in supporting inventors, whether working on behalf of companies or as private individuals, on the rocky road to success. We say 'rocky' because getting your new idea off the ground is usually a difficult process and over the years we have unfortunately seen many inventions fall by the wayside.
Here is a very brief checklist of the absolute minimum you should do if you're serious about getting your idea to market:
At Chute Design Associates we have ourselves learned the hard way many of the 'dos and don'ts' of developing your own product, and so we are pleased to pass this expertise on to our clients. Sometimes we do have to advise a client against spending any more time and money on their idea - at least he or she won't waste any more of these precious commodities! For others, however, we can make a real difference. For example:
Flexi-tip Sealant Smoother
This tool was developed for the DIY and building trade markets by Chute Design Associates. Research showed that existing types of filling knives etc. were ineffective in many applications where the DIYer ended up using their finger instead; now the Flexi-tip Sealant Smoother provides a better, safer means for applying all kinds of filler, grout and sealants. The product has been licensed to leading DIY manufacturer Vitrex and was launched in the spring of 2003. See the product on our Gallery of Previous Work page.
Flexitable multiplication tables for schoolchildren
This ingenious yet simple device was invented by a teaching assistant and is now being supplied to schools to assist their efforts in raising numeracy standards. Find out about Flexitable on our past clients page. Also see pictures of the product on the past products page.
Chute Design Associates is sponsoring this product which we believe offers significant road safety benefits. See LeftsideRightside on our current work page.
