Concept presentation for the FillGood filling and grouting tool (now known as the Vitrex Flexi-tip Sealant Smoother). This product was developed by Chute Design Associates, including:

Presentation comprises:
  • Initial prototypes

These were produced by the 'rapid-prototyping' method, and consist of handles moulded in self-coloured resin (so no paint required) with tips moulded onto the ends in self-skinning polyurethane foam.

The benefit of this technique was that it became possible to create a highly realistic model which performed in a very similar fashion to the final envisaged injection moulded product.

The latest version of extrusion.

By employing the manufacturing method of co-extrusion, it has now been possible to create a profile consisting of both rigid (unplasticised) and flexible (plasticised) PVC.

The benefit of this to the present application is that the separate foam strip is no longer required, thus:

  • Improving the functionality and appearance of the product as a whole
  • and...
  • Eliminating an assembly cost
